Itinerary
Day 1 – Start kayaking along the Nam Tha River, enjoying stunning views on both banks. Visit the Lanten ethnic village, have a riverside picnic lunch, then continue downstream in the afternoon to a Khmu ethnic village. Stay overnight in a warm and welcoming homestay, with a traditional Lao dinner shared with the locals.
Day 2 – After coffee, tea, and breakfast, begin kayaking from your homestay along the river towards the small town of Nalae. Paddle past peaceful rural villages lining both banks, where locals live in harmony with the river and surrounding nature. In the afternoon, arrive at your accommodation in Nalae. Enjoy the cool mountain air, take a leisurely walk around the town’s edge to observe daily village life, and savor authentic Lao dishes for dinner.
Day 3 – Morning visit to the fresh local market, then board a motorboat piloted by an experienced local driver. Cruise along the river, passing scenic riverside villages and lush nature, stopping for a riverside picnic lunch. Continue to Don Thip village, located on a hillside with panoramic views. Overnight at Don Thip homestay.
Day 4 – Wake up early to take in breathtaking sunrise views over the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the fresh morning air and the peaceful sound of nature before walking down to the boat pier. Cruise by motorboat through stunning river landscapes, with golden sunlight shimmering on the water, until you reach the downstream pier. Continue by minivan to Bokeo province at the Laos–Thailand border, ending the trip with unforgettable memories of Laos’ natural beauty.
